Welcome New Licensee

Welcome to the New Membership area of the Athens Radio Club. After taking and passing your HAM exam with Athens Radio Club, you get the remainder of the current year's membership to Athens Radio Club for free.

Hello and Congratulations! My name is Philip Campbell, W4PHC, president of the Athens Radio Club. I personally want to welcome you to the exciting world of Amateur Radio or upgrading to your next level.

If you are just starting your adventure your callsign should show up in just a few days. It is a painful wait but well worth it. While waiting for you callsign listen to local repeaters and start looking (or buying) your new radios. If you are upgrading your license, you will enjoy the expanded privileges and start exploring the HF world.

As was mentioned to you following your VE session, because you tested and passed in Athens, you are entitled to free membership to the Athens Radio Club through the end of the calendar year. If you are interested in joining ARC, follow the link below to join the club.

We also encourage you to join our Groups.IO listserv as well. Once you join the listserv, feel free to email the group with any questions or requests for help you may have. You are encouraged to use our website and familiarize yourself with our community support and our four annual special events. If you don’t have a radio yet, feel free to listen to the local repeaters on the Broadcastify stream and play around with listening to the HF bands on the SDR. There are links that will get you to other websites for equipment, etc.
